Cyclist Memo Update
Over the last several months, Town of Stanley has been addressing the ongoing issues with bicycles, particularly involving juveniles riding on the roadways without proper helmets or with no helmets at all. Most of these incidents involve juveniles traveling in large groups, darting in and out of traffic, avoiding stop signs, red lights, and disregarding vehicles that have the right of way. They are also riding in PVAs, at Harper Park, and on sidewalks, which violates town ordinances. Read detailed memo here.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Town of Stanley Planning Department has one (1) item scheduled for public hearing on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 6:00 PM, at Town of Stanley Council Chambers, 416 Highway 27 S, Stanley, NC. The Town of Stanley Board of Adjustment will review the following request:
- (SUP26-01) Special Use Permit application for property located at 341 N Main Street, parcels 307421 and 307422, located in the (RMF) Residential Multi Family Zoning District, to allow for a School. The applicant is Community Public Charter Holdings LLC.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Town of Stanley Planning Department has one (1) item scheduled for public hearing on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 6:30 PM, at Town of Stanley Council Chambers, 416 Highway 27 S, Stanley, NC. The Town of Stanley Town Council will review the following request:
- Consideration of an ordinance ordering the withdrawal from dedication of a portion of General Stonewall Jackson Drive, a platted forty (40) foot +/- recorded right-of-way, a distance of approximately three hundred fifteen (315) feet +/-, such that the remaining right-of-way would remain as recorded. The portion of the road to be closed adjoins parcel 175871. The applicant is Town of Stanley.
