Notice From Town Council Regarding Parallel Parking in Downtown

Due to recent concerns from the business owners and citizens regarding the downtown development plan, The Stanley Town Council wishes to let the public know that the original design for the Downtown Development Plan was a conceptual plan and included drawings of a change in the parking configuration.

These were only conceptual drawings by the architectural consultant.  There are no immediate plans to make any changes to the downtown parking configurations at this time.  The Town of Stanley held multiple public hearings seeking input regarding this downtown plan.  The Town Council is working hard to make improvements to the downtown area, including upgrades to the lighting, fencing, and additional improvements.  The Town Council will always seek input from the public regarding any changes that will affect the operation of businesses in the downtown area.  As always, if you have any questions, we encourage you to contact us at 704-263-4779, or email us at

We would like to take this time to thank our long time downtown business owners.  We appreciate your Investment in our community and will continue to work together for the improvement of the community.

Thank you!

Mayor Steve Denton and Town Council Members Cathy Kirkland, Bud Pate, Danny Sparrow, Kerry Hart and Rob McMinn
