Important Notice Regarding Utility Accounts

EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 2020 BILLING CYCLE, the Town of Stanley will resume normal utility operations. We will resume late penalties, cut-offs, and cut off fees. If you have a past­ due water bill due to COVID-19, you should immediately contact our staff to set up payment arrangements. Failure to do so could result in your water being cut off for nonpayment. Please contact the Town Hall at 704-263-4779 to discuss payment options.

Please note that the Town of Stanley has waived all credit card fees associated with payments made during COVID-19. Due to the increased amount of online payments and the cost of credit card fees being totally absorbed by the Town of Stanley, we will resume charging a 3 percent fee associated with credit card payments. For those who do not wish to pay the credit card fee, please consider an automatic draft payment from your checking account. As described above in payment options, this option is free. The bank nor the Town of Stanley charges a fee for this service. Remember you can find the enrollment form online on the Town of Stanley website under Forms & Documents and selecting “ACH Auto Draft Application”.

The Town offers the following options for utility payments:
1. Online via the “MyGovHub” portal. From there you can set up profile, link your account, make your payment and sign up for paperless billing.

2. Automatic Draft. -There is no cost for this option. You can have your payment automatically drafted from your checking account each month. To sign up for this option, please use the Bank Draft Authorization Agreement Form. Please fill out the form and submit to the Town Hall via drop box, mail, or contact Town Hall for more assistance. The draft will occur between the 10th and 15th of the month.

3. Mail – Please keep in mind the due dates when paying by mail.

4. Drop Box – The Town of Stanley provides a secure drop deposit box located in the first
lane of the drive-thru. You must exit your vehicle to place your payment in the drop box.

Please remember that placing a payment in the drop box after 5 :00 p.m. on the day of cut off will not prevent your water from being disconnected and will not prevent you from being charged the cut-fee and other penalties.
