The speed limit inside any municipality is 35 unless otherwise posted.
There are several areas in the down town business district where the speed limit is 20 mph. However in school zones during specific times the speed limit is 25 mph.
The Stanley Police Department has a secured drop box in the lobby of the police department were prescription medication can be discarded and properly disposed of. No liquids, needles or creams.

Fire Department
The Fire Department does not offer an event space. However, tours can be scheduled in advance for any groups that would like to make the Fire Department part of their party.
We recommend reserving the shelter at Harper Park for your event space and walking to the Fire Department for your pre-scheduled tour.

Trash is picked up every week on Monday or Tuesday. Recycle is every other Wednesday.

No. The Town has an ordinance which prohibits placing these on the street. All such waste must be behind the curb.
Yes. Bulk pickup occurs weekly. There is no set schedule, so please leave the tires at the curb.
We are unable to accept tires still on the rim as the landfill will not accept them.
Once picked up, fees will be added to your water bill.
Water Service
Swimming pool adjustments are offered once per calendar year. The adjustment will be made only to the sewer charges.
Residents must pay for the water fee as it is stated on their bill.
If you would like your yearly adjustment applied, please bring your bill to Town Hall.
Yes. If a leak has occurred and been repaired, residents may bring their bill and repair receipt to Town Hall for a one-time adjustment. This type of adjustment can be used one time per calendar year.
The repair receipt must be presented in order for the adjustment to be processed.
Yes. A $50.00 fee is assessed on any account that has not been paid by 5:00 pm on the 25th of each month.
The last day to pay is the 25th of the month before 5:00pm. If the 25th of the month falls on a weekend, payment will be due the following business day by 5:00 pm to avoid disconnection.
Please keep in mind that the 10% penalty is applied after the 15th of the month. In order to avoid any additional charges to your account, payment is due the 15th by 5:00 pm.
The water bill is due on the 15th of each month at 5:00 pm. If the 15th of the month falls on a weekend, payment is due the following business day by 5:00 pm.
If payment is not received by the due date, a 10% finance charge will be added to the account.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Cash or Check. At this time, we are unable to accept American Express cards.
Bills can be paid online, by mail or in-person.
- Town Hall has an afterhours drop-box. We recommend including the bottom portion of your bill in an envelope with your check. We do not advise placing cash in the drop-box.
- Click Water Payment to pay your bill online (3.5% fee).
For new accounts, applications and deposits received before 3:00 pm (Monday through Friday) will be turned on same-day. After 3:00pm, water will be turned on the next business day.
For late-payment cutoffs, if payment is made in full by 3:00 pm (Monday through Friday) water will be turned on the same-day. Residents paying after 3:00pm will have the water reconnected the next business day.
All properties inside the Town Limits must have Town water.
Applications are available at Town Hall. You will need to provide a copy of your ID and a rent receipt, lease agreement, or proof of purchase.
A soft credit check will be preformed to determine the deposit amount. Deposit amounts range from $150.00 to $250.00 and a $5.00 fee will be charged for the credit check, per customer.
